This is my second entry for this week's topic. I just had to post it too because of the many layers a rose blossom consists of and also because of the almost endless layers in this drawing it took to create the desired effect of real petals and their velvety surface. It is also part of my Valentine's Day Postcard.

Beautiful!
AntwortenLöschenGorgeous rose! The colors are beautiful.
AntwortenLöschenSimply Gorgeous!
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful layers!
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful colours and texture!
AntwortenLöschenThe illusion of texture is amazing. What I like is that you can tell it is not a photo...but the texture is so tactile that it takes a minute to accept it as a drawing. I would live to see it in larger scale. I also enjoy the progressive rhythm in the shapes of the petals. It keeps the eye moving and making comparisons
AntwortenLöschenWow, I've never been able to render that frosty velvety texture of a rose...well done!
AntwortenLöschenThis is so beautiful!
